Doodle 4 Google

March 10, 2012 By: Kevin Category: Announcement, General

Google is having a contest for kids K-12 to design their next logo. The prizes are pretty enticing so if you know of any aspiring artists, please share. The deadline for submissions is March 23.  Here a link to a PDF flyer on this activity and there’s more info below:

Hi, My name is Ashlee Piper and I’m a Field Marketing Representative for Google. I’m contacting you today to discuss one of the many ways your program can partner with Google to create more opportunities for your children.

Right now, Google is hosting Doodle 4 Google, which is an art competition that challenges students to redesign our Google logo, with a doodle based on the theme: “If I could travel in time, I’d visit…”

The national winner takes home a $30,000 college scholarship and awards his school with a $50,000 technology grant. In addition, the winning “Doodle” will also be displayed on Google’s homepage, Crayola’s iconic 64 box, and even more exciting our state winner will have his or art featured at Washington State’s Local Exhibit, The Pacific Science Center.

Please take some time to review the attached 1-Sheeter and let me know how we can best communicate this opportunity to your kids.

In addition, we also have Submission kits that we can provide to help some of your schools hold their own Doodle activity. Please let me know if you are interested. so that I may deliver a kit ASAP. The kit includes Entry Forms, Crayola Crayons, Markers, and Map Pencils. We also have tons of printed submission forms to give you as well.

Below are a couple links to help you learn more about Doodle 4 Google and to meet Matteo Lopez, the 2011 Doodle 4 Google National Winner.
