National Eagle Scout Scholarships

Eastern Orthodox Committee on Scouting – The eastern Orthodox Committee on Scouting offers one 1,000 and one 500 scholarship upon acceptance to a four-year college or university. The eligible applicant must be a registered member of a Boy Scout unit; be an Eagle Scout; be an active member of an Eastern Orthodox church; have received the Alpha Omega Religious Award; have demonstrated practical citizenship in his church, school Scouting unit and community; be enrolled in his final year of an accredited high school. Army ROTC Scholarships – Offers Jr. and Sr. high school students 4 year undergraduate scholarships. The scholarships pay an annually established amount for tuition and mandatory educational fees. The scholarships also pay miscellaneous fees, a flat rate for textbooks, classroom supplies and equipment. Scholarships are based on SAT or ACT scores, grade point average and leadership potential. Students who intend to pursue engineering or physical science degrees are given additional consideration. Scholarship recipients incur no military obligation until their sophomore year. Upon graduation, all ROTC graduates are commissioned and second lieutenants in the US Army and must serve on active and/or reserve duty for eight years.

Carter Scholarship Grants for New England Scouts – For Scouts from the six New England states. 1500.00 per year for two years. Must be a high school senior top apply.

Eisenhower memorial Scholarship Foundation – They are limited to certain Indiana colleges. Applicants are judged on scholastic performance, leadership and promise of becoming opinion leaders. They must have open and inquiring minds, faith in a divine being, and a firm belief in the free-enterprise system and the American way of life. Selection is by a rigorous process of competition and screening. Financial need is not a consideration.

Josh Sain Memorial ScholarshipThis scholarship was established in 1998 to honor the spirit and the memory of Josh Sain, a former National Vice Chief of the Order of the Arrow. The scholarships are provided to immediate past National and Regional Officers, and immediate past section chiefs upon completion of their successful service of their terms. All awards are selected on merit and based on performance in their respective roles and academic achievements while serving in one of the roles mentioned above.  Access the scholarship application form here and submit before February 1st.

Frank D Visceglia Memorial Scholarship – The Frank D. Visceglia Memorial Scholarship fund supports educational opportunities for students who will have a direct effect on the nation’s ability to meet the needs of the new century in the delicate balance between the economy and the environment. The National Association of Industrial and Office Parks and the Association for Commercial Real Estate underwrites the scholarship. The applicant must be an Eagle Scout and a resident of New Jersey. Preference will be given to Scouts whose service projects are related to the environment or the economy. (A description of the project will be among the deciding factors in awarding the scholarship.) The scholarship amount is $1,000. The recipient must have been accepted to, have applied for, or plan to attend an accredited four-year college. Mable and Lawrence S. Cooke Scholarship – Purpose: One scholarship of up to $48,000 (up to $12,000 per year for four years) and four $20,000 scholarships ($5,000 a year for four years) are given annually. The Eagle Scout offered the scholarship must agree to specific conditions before acceptance. Please visit Web site for information and application. Qualifications: Applicant must be: male, full-time student. High school students not considered.

National Eagle Scout Hall/McElwain Merit Scholarship – Purpose: Must be an Eagle Scout. Only graduating high school seniors through college juniors may apply. Application is available at the Web site.  Qualifications: Applicant must be: male, full-time student. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

National Eagle Scout Scholarship – Purpose: Award for graduating high school males for use in undergraduate degree study. Must have SAT scores of at least 1090 and/or ACT scores of at least 26. Must be an Eagle Scout. Application is available at the Web site. (http://www.scouting.org/nesa/scholar) Qualif.: Applicant must be: male, full-time student. High school students considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.

Arthur M. & Berdena King Eagle Scout Scholarship – Open to all Eagle Scouts who are currently registered in an active unit and have not reached their 19th birthday during the year of application.   (The application year is the calendar year, 01 Jan. to 31 Dec.)   The year that Eagle was awarded is not restricted.  College plans do not need to be completed in order to receive the cash scholarship.  Three cash scholarship awards are given: As the National First Place winner – $8,000.00; Runner-up – $4,000.00; 2nd runner-up – $2,000.00.  You may apply more than one year if you meet the age requirements but no more than $8,000.00 total may be granted to any one Eagle Scout.

Veterans of Foreign Wars Scout of the Year – The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. This scholarship program is open to registered, active members of Boy Scout troops, Venturing crews, and Sea Scout ships. Applicant must have received the Eagle Scout Award, the Venturing Silver Award, or the Sea Scout Quartermaster Award and must have demonstrated practical citizenship in school, Scouting, and the community. Application must be submitted through a single, local VFW post. $5,000

Emmett J. Doerr Memorial Distinguished Scout Scholarship – National Catholic Committee on Scouting. Each year, the National Catholic Committee on Scouting awards scholarships to three outstanding Catholic high-school seniors who are currently registered and active in Boy Scouting, Varsity Scouting, or Venturing. Applicant must have earned the Eagle Scout Award or the Silver Award; have earned the Ad Altare Dei or Pope Pius XII religious emblem; have held a Scouting leadership position; and have served in his home parish. $1,000 to $2,500

Chester M. Vernon Memorial Eagle Scout Scholarship – National Jewish Committee on Scouting
The recipient of this scholarship will receive a $1,000 scholarship per year for four years. Applicant must be currently registered and active in Boy Scouting, Varsity Scouting, or Venturing. He must have earned the Eagle Scout Award; have earned the Ner Tamid or Etz Chaim religious emblem; be active in a synagogue; and have demonstrated practical citizenship in the synagogue, school, Scouting unit, and community. He must demonstrate financial need $1,000 per year for four years

Rick Arkans Eagle Scout Scholarship – National Jewish Committee on Scouting
The recipient of this scholarship will receive a one-time $1,000 scholarship. Applicant must be currently registered and active in Boy Scouting, Varsity Scouting, or Venturing. He must have earned the Eagle Scout Award; have earned the Ner Tamid or Etz Chaim religious emblem; be active in a synagogue; and have demonstrated practical citizenship in the synagogue, school, Scouting unit, and community. He must demonstrate financial need. $1,000

Frank L. Weil Memorial Eagle Scout Scholarship – National Jewish Committee on Scouting
The recipient of this scholarship will receive a one-time $1,000 scholarship; two runners-up will receive one-time $500 scholarships. Applicant must be currently registered and active in Boy Scouting, Varsity Scouting, or Venturing. He must have earned the Eagle Scout Award; have earned the Ner Tamid or Etz Chaim religious emblem; be active in a synagogue; and have demonstrated practical citizenship in the synagogue, school, Scouting unit, and community.

Orndorff Eagle Scout Scholarship – Joseph Eugene Orndorff wishes to establish the Orndorff Eagle Scout Scholarship in honor of his father, E. Eugene Orndorff. It is intended that the scholarship amount be $2,500 per recipient each year for attending the Millikin University in Decatur, IL. This scholarship may be awarded in subsequent years. Application form deadline is May 15th.

Eligibility Criteria: Be currently registered as a member of the Boy Scouts of America and/or the National Eagle Scout Association (NESA). • Have attained the Eagle Scout rank, or have verified that your application for Eagle Scout has been received at the national office. • Request that your high school provide an official transcript of your high school grades directly to Millikin University. • Have an SAT score of at least 1090 and/or an ACT score of 24. NOTE: These scores must be reported on an official SAT/ACT record sent directly to Millikin University. • Have demonstrated leadership in Scouting and a strong record of participation in activities outside of Scouting.

C.W. Post Eagle Scout Undergraduate Scholarship Long Island University – C.W. Post Campus The Long Island University, C.W. Post Eagle Scout Scholarship Program is designed to provide an annual $2,000 Undergraduate Scholarship to one entering full-time freshman who is an Eagle Scout.  Application Form should be submitted before Feb 1st.

JOHNSON AND WALES UNIVERSITY (Gilbane Building Company Eagle Scout Scholarship) – AMOUNT: $1,200 FIELD(S): Business, hospitality, technology, culinary arts For students attending Johnson & Wales University, Providence, Rhode Island. Must be Eagle Scouts.

A. RALPH BOXELL EAGLE SCOUT SCHOLARSHIP – The A. Ralph Boxell Eagle Scout Scholarship is available through the University of Central Missouri Foundation for a graduating senior who has attained the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America and plans to attend UCM. This scholarship is made possible by way of a gift from A. Ralph Boxell of Clinton, Missouri.
